Need a home or someone to foster asap
I live in Iowa and I have been rescuing and helping animals for many years now. I have recently rescued two dogs. only thing is that I myself have fallen ill and have gotten into a bad situation and have to move into a small apartment for about 3 months until the house we are buying is ready. I really need a home for these dogs or someone to take care of them for up to 3 months until I get my house. If fostered I will pay for the food. This is what I have.....

Around 1 year old female pit bull. I rescued Pepper from being chained up in a backyard left by her owners to starve to death and she was very skinny and abused. She is not fixed and is in need of shots I think. She is very loving and sweet. Great with people and kids all but not little ones because she gets very hyper and her size she knocks them over. But does love to give them kisses. Not good around cats. Am not sure now about dogs because was attacked by a dog and now is iffy. She has a issue with being left alone. Is so so in house as long as you do not leave her alone. Working on potty training her. She is very trusting and wants the attention and to be loved. If can't find a home maybe someone to care for her for awhile. Can not take her to an apartment. I don't want to take to pound because she will be put down.

Next is a fixed 10 month old miniature Sheltie that was rescued from a puppy mill. He has had some shots and is micro chipped. He has issues of running in circles constantly so I nick named him Circles. He might also be a little deaf. He is very sweet and loving when you can get him to quit spinning. Good with kids and all other animals. Loves to play. Am working on the potty training thing with him. Is kennel trained. Please if interested in giving them a home or fostering them please let me know asap.

RE: Need a home or someone to foster asap
I am no where near you but if you know of transportation I will take Pepper indefinitely, find her a home, or take care of her until you are settled. I have two sweet one-year-old pits myself, one with a rough beginning as well. There is room to separate them if the need arises and much love for the breed, so if you can find no one else, my husband and I will do what we can to help. I frequent the forum often so keep in touch and let me know--we live in Washington State.

RE: Need a home or someone to foster asap
I have already spoken to my husband and he is as willing as I am. As I have stated previously, Slevin is probably going to get surgery so he will be crated for at least a month, and a new dog usually goes to work with me until everyone is comfortable. We are good on my end, so say the word. If it weren't for this surgery, I would fly her out here myself!
We have a good, inexpensive vet to get her shots/spay with, so let us know. Pepper will be in good hands, and you can have her back if/when you like.

PS: Thank you, Alex! We are always happy to help and have some company. New dogs and different environments help our own pets' adaptability, so they can do well in many situations!

Where are you located at? I am not sure how to get her where you are

RE: Need a home or someone to foster asap
We live in Lacey, Washington. There are many different pet transport services available that I am looking into, I am just trying to find a good price with a good level of comfort. I am somewhat uncomfortable with just putting the little lady on an airplane, you know; but i guess it's best in the long run if we absolutely have to...
It seems to be even tougher right now because of the weather, but I can start getting some quotes if I could get the city of origin and Pepp.'s weight. This will at least give us an idea of what we're getting ourselves into!

Well you wouldn't be getting him to me, it would be danny2sta, if still interested.

I hope we can help this dog out

RE: Need a home or someone to foster asap
I spoke with a dog lover in Iowa who is unable to take the dogs herself because she already has five. She did, however, give me links to some pit-friendly rescues in the state:
Homeward Bound:http://www.homewardboundrescue.com/
Twin City Pet Rescue: http://www.tcpetrescue.org/
Save-a-bull: http://www.saveabullmn.com/
Second Hand hounds: http://secondhandhounds.org/
There's also a rescue called A Rotta Love Plus. They deal with pits, but they're a long shot.
These are just some other options. I truly want to see Pepper happy, so let me know what happens if she does not come here!

I am very much interested. I have tried everything and called everywhere. I am at wits end. It is also hard for me because I myself don't have a car right now and have to rely on a friend. It really makes me feel awful. I have learned to love this dog and wish I could keep her but I have 2 pit bulls of my own and can not put Pepper with one of mine. And I cannot keep them separated in a small apartment. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?
