I am a small rescue in Omaha. I used to be out in the country in Valley/Waterloo area. I rescue dogs and birds, mainly seems to be lovebirds lately. I currently have three puppy mill dogs.
a male mini/toy schnoodle, black and silver. now current on vaccinations, housebroken and 2yrs old. his only downfall is he has a fettish for metal. ie: paperclips, nails, anything of the sort. will even try to get to tags? have tried working with him on it and have made some progress. a female mini doxie, dapple, about 2yrs old, was actually breed at least twice while at puppy mill but will be fixed Jan 6th current on all shots, doing good on house breaking, was scared of outside, will go on pee pads. real sweet heart. she is a special needs due to one eye, born that way from what vet said, has inner eyelid covering left eye that she can, so it seems, see out of. we are attempting to have her get an operation to have inner eye lid removed. excepting donations, to be sent dirrectly to vet when we find one, most likely it seems omaha animal med group that has a specialist.a female min pin, who is set to be spayed Jan 6th however we believe might be pregnant, so that will be postponed... i was told by puppy mill owner she has a heart murmur but not confirmed. current on all shots except rabies but will still get the 6th. she is about 1yr old and was very shy but is coming around. she is still kind of scared of the outdoors but is making progress, has gone potty outside three times just not poo. she is very good at using pee pads. she will not be ready for adoption if pregnant, until litter born and she deemed of good health. other pets a lab/golden retriever mix, 5yrs old fixed and up to date. (pending adoption) a pointer mix, 8yrs old fixed and up to date (pending adoption) a domestic cat, female, 2ish fixed and front de-clawed, up to date and in need of home asap, very allergic and is at a friends and is very timid needs a home with no kids, preferably a very quiet home. she is mainly white but has some calico spots we also currently have several love birds, colors and species vary. just adopted two out but the others, 5 are not being adopted out and the other 4 are not ready, two are plucking and one is mated to its partner but we are removing eggs, we are NOT a breeder! that is how were surrendered. We are currently taking donations of dog/bird food (has to be cockatiel/love bird blend) towels, grooming supplies as i am on ssi and fund most of my rescue efforts by grooming at very low cost, partly because i want to make sure those who cant afford to otherwise groom their pet, and end up neg them, can keep and care for them. also taking donations of pee pads as we go thru a lot. will except bird cages and the like as well. not really looking for a hand out or cash, but if you would like to donate cash i will let you know more info on what/where to donate. we do require a thorough adoption application with references and vet info intending to use. we require that you sign a contract that if for any reason at any time you are unable to keep them that they come here or otherwise allow us to help re-home them for you. we require meeting all those in your family with dog and any dogs in home and disclosed if have other pets as some dogs have an inert instinct to go after birds and rodents... hampsters etc. wouldnt want any accidents!!! Will post pics once down loaded, thanks for reading and God Bless! |

That is so cruel to repeatedly breed dogs for the sake of profit. Post pics when you can of the lab/golden retriever. We have a lab/retriever mix and I am interested to see if they look alike. Are you a rescue facility or just running your operations out of your home? Seems like your doing a great job and the animals are loving you .Anyway, thanks for posting, was a good read. RE: Rescue in Omaha
Do you know of any other rescue groups in or around Omaha or Iowa? I have 2 dogs that I have rescued but am in a bad situation and need to find homes or someone to foster them for about 3 months until I can get back on my feet. I do not want to take them to the pound. Please if you have any information ASAP let me know thank you.

RE: Rescue in Omaha
We are a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rehoming of unwanted, neglected, abandoned and abused Saint Bernards. We are constantly getting in new Saint Bernards, and our intake and evaluation process means that a new Saint may not appear on our website for three to six weeks, depending on their condition upon arrival. Please check back often to see our new arrivals. If you are considering bringing a Saint Bernard into your home and family, please spend some time touring our website, so that you can make an informed and well-considered decision about foster care or adoption.
